From Couch Potato to Agility Star

When I first adopted Daisy, she was what you might call… “enthusiastically lazy.”

Her favorite activities included napping, eating, and dramatically sighing if anyone suggested going for a walk. She wasn’t overweight — she was just committed to a life of extreme relaxation.

At first, I thought, “Hey, a chill dog fits my vibe.”
But after a few months, I noticed Daisy seemed bored. Less tail wags. Less sparkle in her eyes. And honestly, I worried about her health too.

On a whim, I signed us up for a beginner’s dog agility class.
Honestly? I didn’t expect much.

At our first session, Daisy tried to lie down in the middle of the obstacle course.
The instructor kindly said, “Every champion starts somewhere.” (I think she was trying not to laugh.)

But week after week, something amazing happened.
Daisy got stronger.
She got faster.
And she started to love it.

Soon, she was flying over jumps, racing through tunnels, and weaving through poles like a furry rocket. 🐕💨

We even entered our first local agility competition!
We didn’t win, but Daisy finished the course — tail wagging, tongue flopping, eyes shining.

Now, Daisy has her own mini agility setup in our backyard with her favorite [agility starter kit], and we train a few minutes every day with healthy rewards like [bite-sized training treats].

From couch potato to agility star — and honestly, watching her transformation taught me something too:

It’s never too late to find your passion.
